What was the job?
Leytonstone is in the Northeast London borough of Waltham Forest.
A home had wood floors in a considerable state of disrepair and our services were needed to fix and sand the surface.
Challenges
We could not carry out any effective work until the floors were repaired. The boards which needed replacing took up quite a lot of space and was time consuming.
We had taken several samples of stain for the customer to choose from as they were unsure what colour would suit the room best.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We began by replacing the damaged floorboards and nailed down others which had become loose over time. Gaps between boards were fixed by using glue and pushing boards together.
Without gaps, we could start sanding the surface. When everything was smooth, we showed the customer how each stain looked on the wood. They chose brown mahogany and this was then applied to the whole floor. To finish, it was covered with four layers of lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
There are no longer any signs of damage and the gaps between boards are gone.
The tone is slightly lighter than before and the customer is happy with the effect it has had on the overall style of the room.
We provide virtually dust-free sanding with our continuous belt machinery with mobile extraction units, giving you a safer environment for your family.
This organic finish not only adds beauty to your home but also has exceptional water-repellent characteristics, making it easier to clean and maintain.
We offer a full assessment of your wooden floors to determine what repairs are needed to provide the perfect working surface for the later stages of sanding, staining and sealing.
