What was the job?
We were called to Walton-on-Thames in Surrey to restore the wood floors in a home.
Challenges
Some floorboards were chipped and damaged and this had to be addressed prior to sanding so our work could be at optimum quality.
Areas:
Bedroom 1- 14.2 m2 – pine floor boards
Bedroom 2- 9.6 m2 – pine floor boards
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
After ensuring the rooms were as clear as possible, we then checked the floors for damage to the boards. After taking steps to improve the quality and hide chips, we began sanding the floors. Gaps in boards were given a cosmetic fill comprising of slivers and resin before lacquer was applied to the surfaces.
During the floor restoration
The results
The floors look considerably better and the colour is more consistent. There are still signs of chipping at the ends of some boards but they do not compromise the overall quality. The lighter tone compliments the property and the lacquer should preserve the wood for years.
We provide virtually dust-free sanding with our continuous belt machinery with mobile extraction units, giving you a safer environment for your family.
This organic finish not only adds beauty to your home but also has exceptional water-repellent characteristics, making it easier to clean and maintain.
We offer a full assessment of your wooden floors to determine what repairs are needed to provide the perfect working surface for the later stages of sanding, staining and sealing.
