We love home renovation and home improvement, so we read a lot about it (when we’re not doing it ourselves, that is!)

If you’re undertaking a project or a complete property renovation and you could do with some guidance or inspiration, these sites will definitely help. So here you are, 20 of our very favourite home renovation blogs:

1) Better Homes and Gardens

Kaelin Zawilinski (@kaelinBHG) _Kaelin Zawilinski is in charge of the great content at Better Homes and Gardens. It’s a widely read print magazine as well as a blog with more traffic than the M25 at rush hour.

The home improvement section is great for ideas for new projects and tips to help you get jobs done well. You can subscribe here if you like and check BHG out on Twitter.

Homedit is the brainchild of Stefan Lucian Gheorghe, a man with more than a passion for interior design and DIY.

Stefan, editor Simona Ganea and their team provide loads of interior ideas, as well as practical advice such as in this informative piece on the pros and cons of bamboo flooring, by great staff writer Brittney Smart.

 

 

 

3) Front Porch Ideas and More

Porch decorating, construction and much more is covered here in great detail.

They sell home fittings and building materials from BuildDirect, but the site is also a hub of expert information with a mass of guidance on how to take on renovation projects.

It was established way back in 1995 and remains the leading independent DIY blog 20 years later. Here you can find how to guides, completed reader projects and chat in the forum for more renovation discussion. Check these guys out on Facebook and Twitter for even more inspiration and help.

RemodelaholicJustin and Cassity love DIY and sharing their home with other home improvement and home renovation enthusiasts. The blog contains top tips on budget renovation and as well as seeing the progress in this pair’s fabulous house, you can check out reader project submissions.

Property owl is a great site run by John Doors. It covers areas such as real estate and property finance, but also has a great home improvement section which we love!

 

 

 

10) Pretty Handy Girl

Pretty Handy GirlBrittany Bailey is a Pretty Handy Girl, and she is kind enough to share her skills and ideas on this fantastic blog.

Home interiors, makeovers, home construction projects and more fill her virtual world and there are some top blog posts you should check out, such as this one on installing a bird table.

 

 

11) Curbly

CurblySubstantial home renovation ideas as well as interior inspiration is available from the very well known Curbly blog. The makeovers section could motivate you to start something new, and you should definitely check out the general home improvement cheat sheets that you can print off free.

FineHomebuilding is a magazine and blog which is full of invaluable information for home renovators. We love the tutorial videos by building and home improvement experts, which can teach you everything from how to remove a damaged piece of flooring to how to cut a laminate countertop for a sink.

It’s one of the biggest UK DIY websites which allows you to find tradesmen you can trust, look at all kinds of home improvement projects and watch DIY tutorial videos. Check out their Twitter feed too.

This is a slick, sleek resource for home inspiration from the latest themes, to reader makeovers and valuable dos and don’ts. It was launched in 20014 by brothers Maxwell and Oliver Ryan and since then it has grown exponentially.

Also with 175,000 followers the Twitter feed is worth a look too.

 

 

18) Katy Elliot

Katy ElliottThe motivated and creative Katy Elliot discusses art, food and her home on her intimate blog.

If you’re looking for decorating ideas then it’s definitely worth checking out, as Katy clearly has a natural flare for this.

 

 

 

19) Retro Renovation
