What was the job?
The pine floorboards in a Croydon property needed sanding and staining as the homeowner had removed their carpets and wanted a lovely wood floor in their dining room.
Challenges
There were some significant gaps between floorboards which had to be filled before staining. The customer also had a variety of stains to choose from and requested to see what each looked like on their floor.

How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
Before work began, we cleared the clutter from the room so as to not delay the work. After sanding using dust-free machines, we filled gaps with a resin and sawdust mix. This made the floor appear as new and prevented dust falling through the floorboards during our work.
Samples of stain were applied to the floor for the customer to choose from.
Before the medium oak stain was applied, we buffed and vacuumed to ensure no debris would be stained and lacquered into the floor. One coat of stain was applied and then four of lacquer.
During the floor restoration
The results
The lighter Medium Oak stain compliments the neutral colour of the room and the choice of matt lacquer means the floor does not reflect too much light from the glass door. We’re pleased to say the homeowner was very happy with how their floor turned out and said they would be inviting guests over to show it off very soon!
We provide virtually dust-free sanding with our continuous belt machinery with mobile extraction units, giving you a safer environment for your family.
This organic finish not only adds beauty to your home but also has exceptional water-repellent characteristics, making it easier to clean and maintain.
We offer a full assessment of your wooden floors to determine what repairs are needed to provide the perfect working surface for the later stages of sanding, staining and sealing.
