We were called to Blackheath to sand the wood floors and stairs within a property.
Challenges
The stairs were particularly damaged and had suffered after years of being under carpets. The carpet grips needed to be removed before sanding could begin.
There were some gaps in the floor which needed to be fixed to ensure the sanding could be completed properly.
How the floor looked before we started work
What we did
We removed the remains of carpet from the stairs and were able to assess the damage to the wood underneath. When we could see the damage, we could then begin work to remove paint splashes and damages.
The floor was less damaged but we did need to fill gaps to improve the cosmetic appeal.
After sanding, we lacquered the surfaces.
During the floor restoration
The results
The floors are now cleaner and more even, making the property more inviting as a whole. The stairs will be easier to maintain now they are not obstructed by carpet and they complement the flooring now that the colours match.
