Restoring wood floors in a small family home in Plumstead

Posted on April 1st, 2018 In: Floor Sanding Blogs

What was the job?

We were asked to sand the wood floors in a Plumstead property.

Challenges

The property is a family home and we could not take too much of their time. We also needed to move furniture to access and fully assess the floor.

How the floor looked before we started work

What we did

After moving the furniture, we ensured all the boards were secure and that were no big gaps. While sanding, we were careful not to damage the radiator within the room.

After sanding, buffing and vacuuming, we applied lacquer and walnut stain.

The results

Because of the stain, the floor looks new and alters the whole aesthetic of the room.

The owner should undertake basic maintenance to ensure the floors continue to be at a high standard.
