Floors from scratch…

Posted on September 28th, 2010 In: Blog, Wood Floor Restorations Blogs

After wood floor restoration, damage can result from careless feet – animal or human. You can protect your new floor from the worst offenders:

– high heels pose an obvious risk. They concentrate the wearer’s weight on a small point (a 125 pound female taking a normal step exerts a force of around 2,000 pounds per inch).

Avoid the chance of a nasty dent – make your new floor a high heel free zone.

– left untrimmed, cat and dog toenails can scratch a wood floor. Prevent the animal version of floor sanding: keep nails trimmed

regularly and avoid any lively play on areas without rugs and carpets.

Wipe up any spills from food or water bowls in good time to avoid damage.
