How to Maintain Your Freshly Sanded and Lacquered Wooden Floors?
No doubt you have spent a lot of time, effort and money in getting your wooden floors sanded and lacquered. Now that your wooden floors are gleaming, it is important to ensure that they are maintained properly so that they continue to look great.
Temperature and Humidity.
The best way to maintain freshly lacquered wooden floors is by maintaining the temperature and humidity in the room. You may need to use air cooler or heaters and humidifiers or dehumidifiers based on the season and the temperature in your region. The ideal temperature range is 15 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius and the ideal humidity is 35% to 55%.
It is important that there is no dust or grit on your wooden floors as these tend to act as sandpaper and destroy the finish. Sweep or vacuum dust the floors sanding regularly, daily if necessary. Avoid using a revolving rush with the vacuum cleaner. Also, avoid excessive use of water for cleaning. At most use a damp mop. Ideally, spay the mop with a wood floor cleaner or use a micro mop. You may also want to use hardwood oils to provide an extra layer of protection.
