If some local patches appear shinier or duller than the rest of the floor, the wood has absorbed more or less oil/wax than its neighbouring boards or blocks.
Buff the area lightly.Â If this doesn’t help, wait a few days to see if it â€˜evens-outâ€™. If it still looks different, feed it with some hardwax.
Hardwax gives immediate protection against dirt and drips, but wait eight hours before replacing furniture.
Give the oil ten days for complete absorption before placing rugs on your newly-restored floor.
