Preparation for sanding wooden floors
Too much wax on your parquet floor? Areas with a dark, sticky substance
indicate that it’s been treated with too much wax in the past.
This needs removal before floor sanding, as excess layers of wax
will clog up the sanding paper – and even spread the wax all over the floor.
‘Wax-removers’ usually work best on newly-installed wooden
floors, rather than on older wax that has been covered over for years.
Try white spirit for parquet floor restoration: read the instructions, experiment on a small,
hidden area, wear gloves and face-protection – and ventilate the room.
