Super shine

After floor sanding and polishing, avoid using oil-based cleaners on lacquered floors as they leave an oily film on the wood.  Adhesion of this residue can make future buffing and recoating impossible.

Use a simple damp cloth or a specialist polyurethane cleaner.  Supermarkets have several such products claiming to be suitable for hardwood floors.

But why take chances after restoring wood floors?  Get good advice on the most suitable product from a store that sells hardwood flooring – or preferably from a specialist hardwood retailer.
