The Real Thing
Solid wood flooring benefits most from wood floor restoration. It provides the most authentic flooring – costly but a great longterm investment that adds value to your home.
Floorboards are made from a single piece of hardwood timber: a range of widths and thicknesses are available pre-finished or left unfinished for you to varnish.
The boards come with tongue and groove edges that are usually glued or nailed onto the sub-floor.
Its warm and natural ambience is very long-lasting as it can tolerate repeated floor sanding and sealing.
It does, however, react to moisture changes according to the seasons, so the floor will contract and expand throughout the year. During installation, margins between the boards are essential to allow for this movement.
