Different stages

Sanding consists of three stages. The first stage is the use of coarse grit sanding paper. This can remove the top layer. The second stage is the use of a medium grit sanding paper. This often removes residual stain. The third stage is the use of finer grade sanding paper to provide a smooth finish. Sanding is often followed by coating of wax or oil.

Methods

Sanding itself does not have different methods. The difference is essentially in technique and use of different machines. The discs and belts, the fence of the sanding machines determine how sanding is carried out. The use of a professional floor sanding services can help save time and will also prove cost effective.
