The Pre Restoration Stage

The first step in the wood floor restoration process is the cleaning stage. Using a soft bristled brush, sweep the floor to remove dust and dirt accumulated in between the floor boards over a period of time. Wood floor restoration involves checking for loose floorboards, nails and gaps. Replace the floorboards where necessary. Hammer back the old nails or replace with new nails. Fill the gaps between the floor boards with resin and sawdust.

Sanding and Finishing Stage

The Sanding and finishing stage play a very vital role in the entire wood floor restoration process. Sanding helps in removing all the accumulated dust, dirt and stains from the top layer of the floorboards. The final aspect of the wood floor restoration process is to give your flooring a very good finish. This is done by applying a fresh coat of natural wax, varnish or stain so that you flooring looks fresh and new.
