Contrasting Interiors Make a Mark
A new trend for contrasting interiors is starting to make its mark in the world of the flooring industry. The new trend for flooring that contrasts with the rest of the room in which it has been installed – for example, light solid wood flooring teamed with a very much darker interior design for the rest of the room – is starting to get noticed by consumers keen to make a big impression with their interior décor and design.
Different shades can help make rooms look brighter and sometimes can even help to give the illusion that a room is larger than it actually is. A prime example of this is the trend for darker wood flooring combined with a neutral colour scheme and minimalist room design.
While some people can often be wary of new design trends due to their frequently transient nature, this is not really a problem when it comes to choosing flooring as, even if the current fashion becomes passé in just a few short years, all forms of wood flooring – be they dark or light – are essentially a form of timeless investment that are capable of fitting in with whatever the latest fashion may be, and which will reflect well on any changes that are made to the décor of the rest of the room. Wooden floors are, of course, also guaranteed to last for a considerable number of years before it becomes necessary to enact any form of wood floor restoration.
