Creating a Beautiful Sanded Floor
Creating a beautiful new wood floor is easy and makes great sense. In Scandinavia they have been installing them for years and have companies specialising in wood floor restoration, which have developed cutting edge equipment used by almost every leading floor sanding company.
The typical scenario is that the company will examine your existing floorboards and suggest either a completely new flooring to lay on top or, if you prefer, they will arrange to create a new floor from the existing boards. Most floorboards are often still in good condition as they will usually have been overlaid with carpeting for most of their existence.
However, even if they are in a bad state, it is likely that, for example, a wood floor sanding London based company will be able to reconstitute them using equipment such as the eco friendly sanding machines produced by Junckers, Osmo, Blanchon, Bona and other Scandinavian companies that specialise in wood floor restoration, refinishing wood floors, wood flooring sanding and hardwood floor sanding.
After preparing the existing floor by hammering the nails back down and filling in the gaps between boards, a heavy upright sander will be rolled repeatedly over the floor, using a series of sandpapers from coarse to fine, before a smaller sander will finish off the job. Floors are often sanded five or more times in this way to smooth them right down before stains and varnish are applied.
The end result will be a magnificent new floor that totally transforms the room.
