Eco-Friendly Flooring Advances
The trend toward ensuring that everything is recyclable or sustainable in the 21st century also applies to flooring. The industry has made great strides in this department in recent times, a fact that will be celebrated next month with a sustainable design exhibition.
The Ecobuild exhibition, as it has been named since it began six years ago in 2005, will be held in London and will feature several stands solely dedicated to flooring. One of the companies expected to feature prominently is Burmatex, which announced a brand new environmental policy last year, while Forbo will also be hosting a stand filled with interactive elements, in order to demonstrate its own initiatives toward eco-friendly flooring, including the area of wood floor restoration. Aside from that, Forbo’s contribution to the exhibition will also include showcasing their new biodegradable and sustainable form of linoleum flooring, which has already won several industry awards for its incredibly environmentally friendly design.
Another company hosting a stand at the sustainable design exhibition will be Mapei, which will be showing off its environmentally sound products, including one which was designed in order to make floor fitters’ jobs less potentially hazardous to their health.
There will also be many other contributions from other companies within the flooring industry; the exhibition will be held over the course of a three-day period, commencing on the first of March and concluding on the third of the month, in the Excel London International Exhibition and Conference Centre at Earl’s Court.
