New Environmentally Friendly Wood Floors
With new floors, the number of environmentally friendly options seems to be growing by the day, and yet now the traditional choices are also starting to fight back in the same area.
Today the great majority of solid wood flooring is sourced from sustainable forests only, which means that any timber that is taken from them is also replaced in a responsible fashion. There are, however, other options for wood floors, including some very innovative ideas that use recycled wood that has been taken from a wide range of products. One of the best examples is wood floors that use wood that has been recycled from barrels, although the latest solid wood flooring to arrive is actually manufactured from wood recycled entirely from shipping containers and crates. This form of hardwood flooring is said to be very strong and extremely durable, thanks largely to the nature of the wood’s usage prior to it becoming flooring, meaning it will last a long time before requiring any form of wood floor repair.
Another bonus of solid wood flooring that has been derived from an unusual source, such as barrels or shipping crates, is that it makes a fun story and entertaining anecdote with which to entertain guests. While the latest flooring is so far only available in the United States, the idea could well catch on and ultimately end up happening elsewhere too, including in the United Kingdom.
Environmentally friendly floors are all the rage with consumers who are looking to be more eco-conscious while still wanting the best quality floors for their homes.
