The Most Popular Floors in Europe
The most popular floors across the whole of Europe have been revealed as a result of a new report, and there are some unexpected findings. According to the new study, which was a European Consumer Survey on parquet flooring, the most popular flooring style in the whole of Europe is ceramic floors. The popularity of ceramic flooring is believed to be down to the hot weather in many of the countries in Europe, with ceramic flooring helping homes to stay cooler during the summer.
In second place in the flooring popularity stakes in Europe is wooden flooring, with laminate flooring bringing up the rear in third place, both of which reflect the current trend for people choosing to have at least the appearance of authentic wood floors within the home. Solid wood flooring is also seen as a wise investment by many individuals these days due to its durability, which means that once installed, it will be a great many years before a homeowner has to worry about carrying out any kind of wood floor repairs. Laminate flooring is also believed to be popular because it gives the appearance of a hardwood floor without the extra cost that having an actual solid wood floor installed would inevitably entail.
Perhaps the oddest result of the survey was the discovery that as many as 60% of homeowners in Europe are keen to change their floors, though it is speculated that many people may have stuck with flooring in the last few years due to the poor economic climate.
